Bespoke joinery
in Rossendale
Handmade kitchens, staircases and fitted cabinetry for homes across the Rossendale valley. Measured in your house, built in our Longton workshop and fitted by the two craftsmen who made it.
Joinery made for stone-built valley homes
Rossendale was built on wool, cotton and slippers, and its housing still shows it. Gritstone terraces climb the hillsides above Rawtenstall and Bacup, mill owners' houses stand back from the valley roads in Haslingden and Helmshore, and old farmhouses and barn conversions sit up on the moor edges around Edenfield and Whitworth. Thick walls, deep window reveals and rooms that are rarely square: these are houses that suit joinery made for them, not units bought in a box.
Our workshop in Longton is around 30 miles from Rawtenstall, an easy run along the M65 and A56. We measure every room ourselves, draw each piece for that space and build it from solid hardwood, so a kitchen run or a staircase fits the house it is going into, uneven walls and all.

We take on commissions throughout the borough, including Rawtenstall, Haslingden, Bacup, Whitworth, Waterfoot, Stacksteads, Helmshore, Edenfield, Crawshawbooth and Loveclough. Whether it is a stone terrace on a steep street, a converted mill or chapel, a barn above the valley or a newer family home, we bring the same care to the measuring, the making and the fitting.
Older Pennine houses bring their own problems: walls a few centimetres out over a run, floors that have dropped towards the middle of the room, and cold, damp corners that cheap board will not tolerate. We allow for all of that at the drawing stage, choose timber and finishes that cope with it, and scribe every piece to the building on site. It is slower than fitting flat-pack, and it lasts far longer.

A family business with a lifelong standard
Jason Iddon founded Joinery Limited in 1998 after decades of structural and decorative joinery work across Lancashire. His son Shaun joined as Director and Design Lead, bringing precision design and a meticulous eye for finish to complement Jason's structural expertise. Between them they cover every stage of a bespoke project, from the first sketch to the final installation.
All craft work is done by Jason and Shaun themselves. We do not subcontract the joinery. The people you meet at the first consultation are the people who build and fit your Rossendale project.
